The Queen’s University Belfast is located in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. This is a public research university that offers over 300 academic degree programs at various levels. Its main campus is on the southern fringes of Belfast city center, but it also has two associated colleges, the St. Mary’s and Stranmillis.
There are three faculties in Queen’s University Belfast, and these are the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Science, the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Life Sciences. These faculties are then divided into different areas of specialization.
Queen’s has over 3,500 international students, and placed 21st in the world for international outlook. They have 10 subjects in the top 200 in the world according to QS World University Rankings. It is also part of the top 140 in the world for graduate prospects.
They have also placed 8th in the UK for research intensity. Most of their research focuses on global challenges like health, food, and technology.
It ranked 3rd in the UK for Dentistry, 2nd for Pharmacology and Pharmacy, 5th for Food Science, and 6th for Accounting and Finance. These are all based in times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 and Complete University Guide 2020.
When you are planning to enter the world of Health Sciences, Queen’s University Belfast is one of the best options out there. This is because of the facilities available in the university. They have a Pharmacy Practice Unit for Pharmacy students, a Nursing Simulation Suites designed as a typical hospital side ward for nursing students, and a Dentistry Lab that has the most modern clinical facilities. They also have a Clinical Anatomy Suite that provides both clinical skills training, revision, and assessment, and a Marine Lab to study marine ecosystems.
One thing that also stands out in Queen’s is their Boutique Cinema on campus. This is full-time cinema that presents the best in classic and new world cinema. They also have the Ulster Museum that has historical artefacts, relics, works of art, and the like. Botanic Gardens are also very prevalent in the university. These gardens are maintained all year round.
